It is possible to embed your lesson recordings or any other video file that is stored in your Google Drive into your Blackboard course, and it is very easy to do.

Go to the video you want to embed in your Google Drive.

Change the "Share" settings of your video. Right-click on the video and select "Share". Then as in the image below set your sharing settings to "Anyone with the link" > "Viewer". Doing this is similar to sharing a link to your Zoom Cloud video and its passcode with the students in terms of personal data protection.

Open your Google Drive video in a new window
This time, open the video by double-clicking on it. Once you do this your video will open, and you will see a “three dots icon” on the top right-hand corner of your screen. Click on the “three dots icon.” A menu will appear as shown in the image below.

Click “Open in new window” in the menu.

This will open the window in a different window with slightly different settings. The same “three dots icon” is available in this window as well. Click on it. This time the option “Embed item” is available as shown in the image below.

Click “Embed item”.

The following screen will appear. Copy the embed code.

Go to where you want to embed the video in your Blackboard course.

Then choose "Build Content" > "Item".

Click on the “Source code” icon in the text box options.

Paste the embed code and click “Save”.

Click “Submit”. Your video is now embedded.
