How to apply for Coursera

To join the Coursera platform, you have to have a seat for which you apply via CELT's Coursera application form. Coursera seats are dominantly given to students who will complete a Personalized Experience Learning course. The application form is sent to Everyone at MEF at the beginning of each semester. If you have received an invitation to the MEF Personalized Learning Experience program from Coursera, you can take courses from Coursera.

How to join Coursera

Please kindly open the e-mail that has been sent from MEF University about your invitation to Coursera and click "Join Now"



After clicking the "Join Now" button, you will be taken to Coursera's webpage which icnludes information about your invitation. Kindly click "Join for Free" button located at the top of the page.



In the opening page, please select "I'm a new Coursera user" if you don't have a Coursera account.



The page will ask you to create a password. Create your password and click "Continue".



If you have successfully completed the previous steps, you will be taken to the MEF University Coursera main page. You can now enroll to new courses.



If You Already Have a Coursera Account With Your MEF University E-Mail;

If you have received an invitation from MEF University + Coursera; go to Coursera.org and click "Login". Use your existing Coursera credentials for logging in.



In the opening page, you will see a pop-up saying that you have been invited to join MEF University on Coursera Learning Program. Please click "Join Program".



If you have successfully completed the previous steps, you can now enroll to the new courses on Coursera.

How to Enroll in Course

Follow the steps below to take both Coursera courses, Career Academy courses, and Guided Projects.

Step 1: Once you have joined MEF PLE, this is how your home page should look like.



Step 2: When you scroll down, you can see the courses divided into departments. You can see all the courses by clicking on the arrow.




Step 2.1: Let’s enroll into the course called “BIM Fundamentals for Engineers”. 



Step 3: A screen like this will pop up when you click on the course. Then all you should do is to click the “Enroll” button. 



Step 4: You can visit your course’s page through the button “Go to course”.



Step 5: You can access further information about your course on the landing page.

 



How to Make an Advanced Search on Coursera


Step 1: Click on the Search Icon that is located at the top of the page.




Step 2: Because there are 2768 results, it is hard to find what you are looking for.




Step 2.1: Let’s narrow down our search with the filter bar located on the left side of the page and select only the “Guided Projects”.




Step 3: You will see all the Guided Projects. However, there are still too many items on the site. Narrow our search down a little bit more by choosing our subject.




Step 4: After that, all the relevant items according to your search will be displayed on the site. (The filters include “Subject”, “Skills”, “Duration”, “Learning Product”, “Educator”, “Language”.)




How to Take Courses from MEF Career Academy

Step 1: Click on “Explore Careers” that is located on the home page. 




Step 2: If you scroll down, you will see a variety of careers listed. Let’s select one.




Step 3: It will take you to the landing page of the career you select. 




Step 4: There, you can see the courses related to the selected career.




Step 5: When you click on “Enroll”, a similar page will pop up. Similar to what we have done while enrolling into a course, you can visit your course’s page through the button “Go to Course”.




How to Track Your Progress

Step 1: After you click on “My Courses” on the home page, you can track your courses. You can see when your course ends, as well as if you have any assignments.
